ChillBrain: Relax. Match. Stay sharp. 🧠
ChillBrain is a gentle brain game designed for older adults — and anyone who wants a calm workout. It's really six games in one, all built the same way: big pieces, soothing music, a friendly voice, 450 levels, and not a single timer anywhere. It was built for one specific player: my 70-year-old mother, Evelyn. Her name is on the opening screen.
How to play (the whole tutorial in four sentences)
Tap a fruit, then tap the fruit beside it to swap them. Line up three or more of the same fruit and they pop, earning points. Line up four or more and you create power tiles that clear whole rows, columns, and areas. Reach the level goal before your moves run out — and take all the time you want deciding, because nothing is counting down. Every other mode past level 100 keeps the same no-timer, no-punishment spirit, just with a different puzzle underneath it.
Built for comfort, on purpose
- Big, distinct tiles — every fruit differs by shape, color, and background tint, so low vision and color-blindness are no barrier.
- No punishment — wrong swaps just gently bounce back; failed levels say "So close!" and offer help. Nothing scolds, ever.
- A warm voice — friendly spoken encouragement ("That's a four match!") using your device's most natural voice.
- Portrait or landscape — plays properly both ways, including on tablets locked in landscape.
- Fair monetization — one banner outside the play area, rewarded videos only when you ask, nothing required to finish the game. We wrote openly about this.
The journey: 450 levels, six different games
Fruit match-3 (levels 1–100): 🌱 Easy 7×7 warm-ups through 👑 Master 9×9 boards with seven fruits — calibrated so a thoughtful player always has a genuine path to victory. Tile Trip (101–150): 🧩 a layered big-tile pile — tap free tiles into a tray, match three of a kind, clear the whole pile. Kitty Sort (151–300): 🐱 adorable hand-drawn kittens to sort by color onto shelves — with real recorded meows and purrs, drag-and-drop or tap-tap controls, mystery levels that hide the kittens until you reveal them, and grand finale boards of sixty kittens. Zen Garden (301–350): 🦋 the Tile Trip mechanic again, paced more gently — the mode I'd point a beginner toward first. Memory Match (351–375): 🧠 classic concentration/pairs with an original "Garden Friends" critter set, growing to a full 20-card board. Bloom Order (376–400): 🌸 a Simon-Says-style flower sequence game that tests pure working memory, up to 8 steps long. Garden Paths (401–450): 🌷 our newest mode, a Flow-style puzzle — drag a vine between every matching pair of flowers without crossing another vine, on grids up to 7×7. Helpers when you need them
Three lifelines share a pool of ❤️ charges: the 💣 Bomb clears a stubborn area, 🎨 Color Pop removes every tile of one fruit, and 🔀 Shuffle deals a fresh board. You earn charges just by playing — daily gifts (with a growing streak bonus), +1 for every first-time level clear, +5 for linking a Google account, and optional rewarded videos. The 💡 Hint button is always free and never runs out. Frequently asked questions
- Is ChillBrain really free?
- Yes. All 450 levels are playable free, forever. Lifelines are earned by playing (daily gifts, level-clear bonuses, optional rewarded videos). Optional lifeline packs and a tip jar exist purely to support development — nothing is locked behind them.
- Do I need an account?
- No. You can play instantly. Signing in with Google is optional — it saves your progress across devices and grants a one-time +5 lifeline bonus. We store an anonymous identifier and your game progress, never your name, email, or photo.
- Does it work on a phone, tablet, and computer?
- All three — it runs in any modern browser and adapts to portrait or landscape. Tablets in landscape get a special two-panel layout. There's also an Android app on Google Play.
- Is there a time limit on levels?
- Never. No timers, no countdowns, nothing that rushes you — think as long as you like. Difficulty comes from move budgets and bigger boards instead.
- What are the tiers?
- 450 levels across six different games, not just one. Levels 1–100 are fruit match-3 across five tiers (Easy through Master). Levels 101–150 are Tile Trip, a layered tile-matching pile — see our Tile Trip guide.
