ChillBrain Power Tiles Explained: Rows, Bursts, and the Rainbow
Once you get comfortable matching three fruits in ChillBrain, the game opens up: match four or more and you create power tiles that clear whole rows, columns, and areas. Here is the full field guide.
The Row Blaster (↔) and Column Blaster (↕)
How to make one: line up four fruits in a row or column. The new tile keeps the fruit's color and shows a small arrow badge.
What it does: when you match it (include it in any 3-match of its color), it detonates and clears its entire row (↔) or entire column (↕).
Best use: wait until the row or column it sits in contains tiles you actually need — collect-goal fruits, or a stubborn area the cascades never reach. On 9×9 Master boards a single blaster clears nine tiles at once.
The Burst (✸)
How to make one: match fruits in an L or T shape (five tiles meeting at a corner or crossing).
What it does: explodes a wide area around itself — the neighborhood, not just a line.
Best use: park it near the middle of the board if you can, where its blast radius covers the most tiles. Corners waste half its power.
The Rainbow (🌈)
How to make one: line up five fruits straight — the hardest match in the game, and the most rewarding.
What it does: the rainbow tile isn't matched like the others. Swap it with any fruit, and every tile of that fruit on the entire board is cleared instantly.
Best use: on collect levels, swap it with the goal fruit for a huge jump toward the target. On score levels, swap it with whichever fruit is most numerous. Take a second to count before you choose — the difference between clearing six tiles and eleven is enormous.
Reading the badges
Power tiles keep their fruit color, so they still participate in normal matches. Look for the badge: ↔ row, ↕ column, ✸ burst. The rainbow is unmistakable — it shimmers through every color.
Chaining powers together
The real fireworks come from detonating one power tile with another. A row blaster that clears a line containing a burst sets the burst off too; cascades from a big blast often create new power tiles on their own. When two or three go off in sequence the screen fills with sparkles and the score multiplies — the closest thing ChillBrain has to a jackpot.
